Dr. Energy Saver provides comfort in Delmarva, one room at a time.
When is the best time to find out where your home is losing heat: before you lose it. How can you tell your house needs a heat loss check-up? If any room in your house feels warmer or cooler than the rest, Dr. Energy Saver will make the house call to diagnose your home with our Home Energy Audit.
With state of the art diagnostics tools, our inspection team will run a series of tests to find nooks and crannies invisible to the naked eye that cause air to move in and out of a room. These areas could be costing you serious money in the winter. But we have great news!
Our home energy audit could be completed at a discounted rate. You could save $300 off your Home Energy Audit with the Be SMART Energy Efficiency Rebate program! That’s a savings of 75%!
Maryland residents that are non-members of the EmPOWER program are eligible for the Be SMART Energy Efficiency Rebates program. These rebates are only available to those that have their home energy audit completed by a Be SMART eligible contractor like Dr. Energy Saver.
Taking the pressure off the house
Dr. Energy Saver will depressurize the house to remove all the air so our inspectors can find where the cold air may be coming into the room. Most areas that have this issue are:
- Joints or corners in a room.
- Electrical sockets.
- Windows.
The test process is simple: the infiltrometer (a fan that sucks the air out of the room) is placed in the doorway and sealed to keep all air from entering the room through the door. This can help our inspectors hear any air moving in or out of a room through hard-to-see nooks and crannies.
But not all leaks can be detected by listening for the air that moves around the room. Our inspectors use heatless smoke tools to see how air is moving. Along with the heatless smoke tools, Dr. Energy Saver inspectors use an infrared heat sensor to find the hot and cold spots in a room.
Finding these trouble areas with the home energy audit is the first step in making your rooms more comfortable and energy efficient. The next step is to properly seal all these areas (the process is called air sealing). You will not believe the dramatic decrease you will see in your energy bills the very next month. And the best part of the air sealing process is: it’s a one and done lifetime repair.
