Maryland's Department of Housing's Be SMART Program Makes Rebates Even Easier!
Be SMART is a government funded rebate program offered through the Maryland Department of Housing. Be SMART is part of the BetterBuildings project created to reduce energy costs and usage. We want to make sure all Maryland homeowners know about the Be SMART rebate program. The program sends homeowners a check in the mail to make their homes more comfortable and energy efficient. It's a no-hassle process that works for everyone!
Energy Upgrade Benefits
- More comfortable rooms.
- Lower energy bills.
- A check from the state of Maryland that is usually received within 10 days of the application being received.
What counts an energy upgrade? Any service Dr. Energy Saver provides you based off of our free home energy checkup. Our inspectors will come to your home and work with you to identify which energy upgrades you would like to have completed. Then they will discuss with you which rebates you are eligible for based on the work you want and need.
Then, and here’s the best part, our Dr. Energy Saver inspectors fill out ALL of the paperwork. This means you just tell us what you want done and we make sure the state of Maryland gives you a check for the work being completed.
Most homeowners receive their rebate check within 10 days of signing the paperwork we fill out for them. Below is a chart of home improvement types and the rebate check you could be eligible for via the Be SMART program. More rebates may be available. Your inspector will be able to let you know if you qualify for a rebate not mentioned below.
Not sure you can afford the energy upgrades right now? The Be SMART program offers affordable financing options with low interest rates that make any energy upgrade easy to get. And yes, Dr. Energy Saver helps with the paperwork for the loans as well.
