Dryer Duct Cleaning in Berlin, MD
Challenge
No surprise for Donnie Lonski, Lawson Home Services' experienced technician, when he arrived at this Berlin, MD home and peered inside the dryer ductwork behind the broken vent flaps. These flaps are designed to keep vermin, bird, bugs, and other intruders from entering the duct work and doing whatever they want once inside. But over years of exposure to the sun these plastic parts got brittle and began to flake away, creating a sweet open invitation to crafty birds who quickly built a nest inside.
Lonski also discovered other issues with the dryer inside the home that were beyond the scope of Lawson Home Services' dryer duct cleaning service. Water dripping out of the back of the dryer control panel, creating a likely possibility for electrical shorting that could result in a dangerous shock or fire hazard.
Solution
The solution is simple:
- clean out the ducts
- install a new vent vent flap
- Alert and inform the homeowner about the water leak issue he spotted during the inspection and advise that a qualified dryer service repairman be called in to find and alleviate the cause.
