Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Wilmington, DE.
Homeowner's in Wilmington, DE wanted to reduce the musty odors and humidity in their home. To solve this common problem, Dr. Energy Saver needed to encapsulate the crawl space.
These homeowner's had a vented crawl space with a dirt floor. Vents allow cool and warm air to pass through the crawl space causing high humidity levels and condensation. This creates mold, odors and the insulation to sag away from the sub-floor. If water leaks into the crawl space the dirt floor becomes saturated.
To solve this problem, Dr. Energy Saver will install the CleanSpace Encapsulation System. First, the vents will be insulated with vent covers to stop air flow. SilverGlo will be installed along the walls of the crawl space to keep the crawl space insulated. Drainage matting is installed along the dirt floor. The drainage matting is dimpled to allow water to flow. Cleanspace liner is applied on top of the drainage matting to keep the crawl space fresh and clean.
By encapsulating the crawl space, it will reduce the humidity, drafts and utility costs.
