Covered Crawl Space Access
In an attempt to help shield their crawl space from the elements these homeowners have covered the opening with a shingled piece of plywood.
Crawl Space Access Panel
With just a metal mesh screen "door" protecting this crawl space it is no wonder why the homeowners tried to cover the opening with plywood. This type of access panel does nothing to protect the crawl space from cold/hot conditions, moisture or small pests.
From Inside the Crawl Space
This view is from inside the crawl space looking out. There is microbial growth on the brick walls of the entry way. This is due to continued exposure to moisture and changes in temperature.
The TURTL Installation
The crew has removed the brick entry way as well as the screen "door" and it's framing. A hole has been dug out deep enough for the TURTL to fit inside and line up with the existing opening into the crawl space.
Sealing Around Crawl Space Access System
After the Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva team have properly placed the TURTL into position and attached it to the home they seal all around it ensuring that it stays airtight, watertight and pest proof.
New and Improved Crawl Space Access System
The finished product; a larger, more comfortable access that is durable, airtight, watertight and pest proof. The TURTL comes in 3 different colors and sizes and also features a lockable lid.
