Dryer Duct Cleaning in Perryville, MD,
Challenge
Lawson Home Services gets a lot of calls for dryer duct clean out. Usually the jobs are routine. But this home in Perryville, MD had a few surprises. It looked like someone took apart the wire bird cage cover, crumpled it up, and shoved it inside the end of the dryer duct. Maybe a prank? Who knows, but that's what or tech found. The poor old dryer huffed and it puffed, but it could only get 231 cubic feet of air to flow through the duct work per minute. That's not nearly enough.
Solution
In addition to the cleaning, our tech removed the tangled wire mess from the ductwork and commenced with the cleaning. When it was done we had much better flow, in fact 1201 cubic feet per minute, over 5 times the flow before cleaning. That means this homeowner will be spending a whole lot less time waiting around on laundry day for the clothes to get dry. Even better yet, the utility cost for operating the dryer will be dramatically less. That's important when you realize the dryer is the most expensive home appliance to operate.
Oh, and we put a new bird cage over the exhaust flaps to keep the birds and other intruders outside where they belong.
