When I first came across this picture, I was a little taken aback. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am not a fan of spiders and at first-quick glance, I thought it was just that - a very large spider. Flexible ducts have their place, but it is a much better bet to have a majority of your ducts be sturdy, insulated, sheet metal ducts. Leave the flexible ducts for the small places you have to work around. Flexible ducts break down at a much quicker rate compared to sheet metal ducts. If you do have flexible ducts, get them checked every year or so to ensure they are in good shape and have no tears.
