Floor Insulation in Lewes, DE
Challenge
A lot of homes have a "4-Season" sunroom addition to their homes, often built over existing decking. This home in Lewes, DE had one, and there was no insulation whatsoever under the floor of this addition. The owners wanted to make the floors in the addition warmer in the winter.
Solution
It was a tight fit for our hard working crew, but Lawson Home Services' crew squeezed into the crawl space beneath the floors and installed SilverGlo™ rigid foam board right against the floor joists. Then, to prevent air from entering the cavities between the floor joists, the seams between the SilverGlo panels were sealed with Zyp expandable foam. Now the floor deck is insulated to R-11 and that should make a big difference to the bare feet of the occupants of this fine home.
