Make Room for Air Ducts
Not necessarily digging, but our first step is to create an opening for the vent. We also link this space to an air duct. This will require a jumper duct which can be easily installed in order to get air from your HVAC system to any room you would like.
Cover and Seal Vent to Ductwork
Our next step in adding a new floor vent is covering the hole with a formed metal insert. This protects the wood below and also allows the vent to have a tighter connection with the duct.
Final Step: Seal Floor Vent
The final step to installing a new floor vent is to enclose it with a vent cover and seal all seams. Now we have a brand new floor vent that will help keep this house more comfortable.
