Depressurization fan
This fan creates a suction on the vent lines connected to the port into the space beneath the basement floor where the radon gas accumulated. It is vented into the atmosphere through an exhaust tube above the roof deck.
Sump
Radon can seep into the sump so it must also be connected to the radon depressurization vent
Cracks
Cracks in cement slabs develop over time. This is how the radon accumulating underneath the concrete slab seep into the basement. These cracks must be sealed in order for the depressurization system to work effectively.
Port
This is the depressurization port through which the radon gas is evacuated from beneath the cement slab. As you can see the cracks in the slab have been sealed by Lawson Home Services technicians.
