Image an invisible, odorless gas that seeps through your house undetected and could potentially cause danger inside of your home. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.
Pictured here in Rising Sun, Maryland is an install of our radon mitigation system. This system effectively reduces the level of radon before it enters your home while improving your indoor air quality.
Homeowners in Chestertown, Maryland noticed the inefficiency of their HVAC unit inside of their attic not properly keeping the living space comfortable during the winter time. The attic temperature read at below 30 degrees.
Dr. Energy Saver came out and inspected the home and informed the homeowners of the issue that they were facing. With their HVAC unit being inside of the cold attic, heating those duct lines were taking longer than expected and not properly being heated to the temperature of the thermostat.
Our production team came right out and got to work. We installed our SunChuter Radiant Barrier which is installed right between the roof trusses. This will create an air space above it and reflect much of the roofs heat. We also air sealed the air penetrations and insulated the attic well above the required state amount. This will make the home a lot more comfortable, the HVAC unit will not run as much, and lowers the electric bills!
The client’s primary goal was to reduce dust and allergens throughout their home. To achieve this, we performed our comprehensive Platinum Air Duct Cleaning Service. This service included a thorough cleaning of both the return and supply ducts, as well as the condenser and evaporator coils. Since the air handler is located in the crawl space, we also paid special attention to this area to ensure optimal cleanliness and air quality throughout the home. As a result, the home now enjoys a cleaner, healthier environment with significantly reduced dust and allergens.
Homeowners in Queenstown, MD contacted Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva because they had concerns about the consistently wet condition of their crawl space. In order to correct the problem and prevent any further water damage the production crew installed a drainage system around the perimeter of the crawl space. The drainage system will collect and carry water to the SmartSump removing it from the crawl space. After installing the drainage system the crew encapsulated the crawl space complete with CleanSpace liner on the floor and SilverGlo rigid foam board insulation on the walls with spray foam air sealing in the rim joists.
The second floor of Rick’s home was uncomfortable in the summer. They had central air conditioning but the upstairs just never seemed to be cool enough. Upon inspection we noticed that the R-value, a measure of the resistance to heat flow, could definitely use some improvement. His attic also wasn’t air sealed. Can lights, electrical penetrations, and top plates were causing unnecessary air flow.
We removed their existing insulation, air sealed the attic, and installed 17-inches of cellulose insulation providing them with the recommended R-value of 60 (over twice their previous insulation level). With their attic reaching between 100 and 120℉ in the summertime, this new insulation will reduce the heat transfer happening and cool the second floor of their home making it more comfortable in the summer. An added plus is they’ll also require less energy to keep the home heated in the winter.
