A homeowner in Harrington, DE, reached out to Lawson Home Services for a professional radon measurement. Concerned about potential radon exposure, they wanted to ensure their home's air quality was within a safe range. The Lawson Home Services team used a reliable charcoal radon test kit to provide accurate and trustworthy results. If you're unsure about radon levels in your home.
The radon measurement results from the Harrington, DE, property indicate consistently low levels of radon across all five deployed detectors. Every reading was below 2.0 pCi/L, with a range between <0.6 pCi/L and <0.9 pCi/L. The average and median results both stand at 0.8 pCi/L, with a low standard deviation of 0.1 pCi/L, suggesting minimal variation between measurements.
From a quality assurance perspective, no duplicates or blanks were reported, and while additional QA tests may have been conducted on a blind basis, they were not included in the official laboratory report. This means the integrity of the data relies on the accuracy of the deployed detectors without external validation.
Overall, these results suggest that the home has radon levels well below the EPA action threshold of 4.0 pCi/L, indicating no immediate need for mitigation. However, periodic testing remains recommended, as radon levels can fluctuate due to environmental changes or structural modifications to the home.
Most homeowners don't think about it but, believe it or not even small crevices like these can be huge energy wasters. Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva can do a full inspection of your home and find all of your energy wasters for you. Let us help you start to "Live Comfortably & Efficiently"!
This homeowner in Dover, DE was struggling with their crawl space. Their crawl space was leaking water and was not properly insulated causing access water, mold, humidity and high utility costs.
Dr. Energy Saver has installed a SmartSump, Drainage Matting, SilverGlo and a CleanSpace Encapsulation system to solve these homeowners concerns.
The SmartSump is installed at the lowest point in the crawl space. There, the SmartSump will collect access water and pump it outside.
The Drainage Matting is dimpled and installed over the crawl space floor to provide space for water flow.
SilverGlo insulation is installed along the walls of the crawl space to prevent any air flow into the crawlspace.
Finally, the crawl space is encapsulated. The CleanSpace Encapsulation liner is installed over the drainage matting and fastened to the walls. The results are much lower humidity in the crawl space, a dry, clean crawl space and lower utility costs.
These homeowners can finally live comfortably in their own home!
Insufficient insulation and lack of air sealing was causing this homeowner discomfort in the summer months. There were parts of the home that were just too warm and clammy.
We removed the old, dirty insulation, airsealed, and blew in 17’’ of cellulose to increase their r-value of 19 up to 60. Secure dams keep the insulation in place and decking not only provides storage, but allows easy access to anyone needing to examine the attic in the future.
